Blockchain, in a maco sense, is a shared, immutable record of peer-to-peer transactions. The transactions are stored as data in blocks. A chain, or a series of link blocks, is built from linked transaction data blocks and stored on ledger. A copy of this ledger is distributed to the participating nodes on the network, and verified via consensus algorithms. Each transaction is digitally signed to ensure its authenticity.
